ThinkGrowSuccessful

image

ThinkGrowSuccessful is my own YouTube channel.

I was responsible for the planning and ideation, providing editing and animation feedback, writing scripts myself and providing feedback to scriptwriters that I taught my writing process.

The channel has grown rapidly, and in less than 100 days the channel has surpassed the 100K subscribers mark.

The channel currently has over 225K subscribers and 140 million views.

Here are some of the top performing videos on the channel:

Logically Answered

image

“Logically Answered” is a documentary business channel, he has been creating 1-3 videos a week for years and has been stuck on an average view count of 100K views per video.

Hair’s team was very limited in the results that they were able to bring to the channel, we initially tried to provide them with a test task to see if they can implement our feedback to take the channel for the next level.

We have helped Hari find an editing team and a scriptwriter that were much more coachable and were able to implement our feedback to our desire.

The video Logically Answered How YouTubers Exposed A $1 Billion CompanyLogically Answered How YouTubers Exposed A $1 Billion Company

was the first video we uploaded with Harry after overhauling the whole production team with him. We were responsible for the hiring, feedbacking the writers, editors, coming up with the thumbnail and title idea and ideation.

This video has been the fastest growing on the channel, getting 6x more than his average views on the channel.

Zac Alsop

We connected with Zac when his video Zac Alsop I Rescued Stray Dogs From Africa On A Private JetZac Alsop I Rescued Stray Dogs From Africa On A Private Jet was the worst that he recently uploaded (10 of 10).

While an average video for Zac usually sits at over 1M views this video was stuck at the 300K views range.

Zac couldn’t tell why a video that he anticipated to become one of the top performers on the channel worked so poorly. At a glance the retention graph seem to be high and flat, many strategists and YouTubers consider that as a good sign, however many times that pattern is received when the video only reached the core audience, usually when a video is exposed to a wider audience we see the retention drop over time as viewers that are not the core audience tend to drop off earlier on. A new feature that YouTube has added which allows us to see the retention graph for returning viewers and new viewers shed the light that new viewers were dropping off early on as they did not have the same trust with Zac as his core audience, and he started the video by providing 1 minute of context of why he is doing this challenge, without reenforcing the bold premise of the video that he is going to take dogs of a private jet. Since we were involved with Zac only in the analysis part of the video, our recommendation for Zac was to shorter the hook through the YouTube editor, while this was not an ideal situation as YouTube’s editor is very limited and only allows you to cut parts off the video, we have seen an uptick of views in June shortly after the change, which put lead the video to get to almost 500K views.

We are now working with Zac on additional parts of his production process, we are providing his editor feedback using frame.io and are involved in the pre-production process of the video, helping Zac and his team come up with ideas and how to execute on them.

Azul Wells

image

Azul Wells is one of the largest retirement planning channels on YouTube. He is pulling over a million views per month.

Azul is releasing daily long form content on YouTube and needed help in building his ideation process to be able to be able to keep up with his upload goal. We have helped Azul by providing him with a batch of 20 ideas, using different methods like “Outlier Theory” and building a content matrix, helping him and his team have a streamlined process for ideation.

Film Fixer

image

Film fixer is a channel about rewriting films that viewers didn’t like.

The channel was stuck at an average of 3K viewer per video.

We had one consultation call with the channel helping them identify the highest leverage points to improve their content.

The largest improvement was in the voice over, we helped them find and hire a new voice over actor that was a much better fit for the channel. We also helped the channel identify major flaws in their hook based on retention data that we have seen, as well as helped the existing team of editors improve their edits.

The video that we have worked with film fixer on Film Fixer Despicable Me 4 Rewrite - A Better VillainFilm Fixer Despicable Me 4 Rewrite - A Better Villain reached over 230K views which is 75X times more than the channel average, and is the most viewed video on the channel.

The channel started working with me in the despicable me 4 rewrite video. Ever since than the trajectory of the channel has changed.

An Food Channel

An is a food channel, he started off by creating videos showcasing how to cook specific dishes. He was inspired by another large channel in the cooking niche and tried to make similar videos, the problem was that it was very hard for his team to create visually appealing food like the large channel he was inspired by that had years of experience filming this type of videos.

When discussing it with An we understood that the team will take a long time to be able to be able to train and execute to a similar level as the channel they were inspired by.

We suggested An to swap his format and choose a format that wouldn’t rely so heavily on the visual appeal side. We decided to change the format to make videos of “Food history”, a format that has worked very well for a channel called “Stokes Twins” which is an entertainment channel and not a food channel.

The first video An made with the new format received over 215K views, becoming the most popular on the channel and getting over 100x views over his average views before changing the format.
